Genesis and NaUKMA open call for Software Engineering School 4.0

Genesis, together with the Faculty of Informatics of the National University of Kyiv Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA), has opened the fourth call for the annual two-month program Genesis & KMA Software Engineering School 4.0 for junior and mid-level developers.

The program consists of lectures, practical assignments, live refactoring sessions, workshops and code review sessions. Participants will work on their own projects and benefit from networking with lecturers and other program participants.

Every year since 2021, we and our partners have run the Software Engineering School program on architectural approaches to software development. This is an opportunity for participants to learn from the expertise of developers, architects, and service desk managers, systematize their knowledge, and find out what common challenges technical teams of global IT products face, comments Oleksandra Tyrkalova, University Partnerships Lead at Genesis.

Among the lecturers and experts of the program are specialists from product IT companies Genesis, SKELAR, Solidgate, and AMO, as well as lecturers from the Faculty of Computer Science of the National University of Kyiv Mohyla Academy.

The program focuses on challenges and approaches in IT product development and covers the following topics:

  • clean code that is easy to maintain;

  • architectural patterns, principles, and design approaches;

  • working with cloud services;

  • using effective security tools;

  • product development lifecycle;

  • particularities of technical teams in the product companies.

In order to provide Ukrainian youth with relevant skills, NaUKMA regularly cooperates with IT companies. This year, we are again working with Genesis to launch Software Engineering School 4.0 to develop talented people and strengthen the product IT market in Ukraine, comments Andriy Hlybovets, Dean of Faculty of computer science, National university of Kyiv Mohyla Academy.

Candidates must pass a competitive selection process consisting of a test, a practical task, and an interview in order to participate in the program. Applications will be accepted up until and including May 8, 2024. Training will last approximately two months and will start on June 4.
